Wow, I didn’t know what it felt like to have 2 days off in a row with my husband, where we just stayed at home. We love going to our parent’s homes, but sometimes it’s just nice to have time off without any big gone away plans.
Now that being said, 1 of the 2 days, we were not home from 8:30am til 12:10pm.
My work schedule was all messed up this week due to the fact that I worked Saturday, so I had to take hours out of my regular schedule so that I didn’t go over, and then my boss didn’t schedule anyone for Wednesday afternoon, so I told him I’d cover the whole day but then he had to get someone to cover my Friday shift. I was still short 2 hours, so I asked if I could add an extra hour to my already full 10 hour days the first of the week which resulted in me having 2 days off in a row that my Nick also had off!!!
Friday, our plan was to go to Cedar Point, but the rain clouds weren’t in our favour. The prediction for Sandusky, OH was scattered T-storms throughout the day. We decided we didn’t want to make the 2 hour drive there and not get to spend the full time on the rides. So we did the opposite; we stayed in bed until almost 1pm! Nick got me breakfast and we watched a bunch of random stuff on TV. Since we didn’t want to waste the whole day, we went to a mini golf place in Ypsilanti. That was fun! Hunger set in finally and we headed off to Bob Evans! Yep, we’re that old couple who goes to Bob Evans at 3:30pm. Stopped at Sam’s Club to get gas, bought the next season of NCIS and spent the rest of the night in bed watching an entire 1st disc of season 5!
We’d made plans over a month ago to babysit the babies on Saturday so that Nich could take Jennie out for her birthday. Originally, he’d planned to take her to Chicago. Then Brooklyn’s sleep study landed her in the hospital. So, they decided to stay closer. Jennie’s mom offered to stay at the hospital with her, and hopefully they were still going to go to maybe Cedar Point or something fun, but alas plans still we not in the favour of Cedar Point. They ended up just staying in Ann Arbor, but got to spend the day together, baby-less so that in itself was a nice break for them. We had prepared ourselves for chaos, ready to spend the day with 3 two year olds and 1 five year old, but even Hailey ended spending the day with her great-grandma. So we had just the boys, Brennan, Landon and Papa Dan. The day was easier than expected, still fun and I still got to spend the entire day with my Nick! I cleaned their kitchen for them and vacuumed the living room. Brennan was a pain in the butt to get to sleep! I have no idea what was up with that!
And that my friends is a re-count of what we did with our 2 day weekend! I probably should upload some pictures sometime soon….
On another note, my BF is moving to NY in the AM.
